Start with pickup and delivery locations
Provide the origin and destination city, state and ZIP code, plus the facility type if relevant. A warehouse dock, construction site and residential address can require different planning. Include the contact responsible for appointments when that information is available.
Describe the freight clearly
List the commodity, how it is packaged, the number of pallets or pieces, gross weight and dimensions. Explain whether the load is stackable and mention unusual handling requirements. Avoid assuming that pallet count alone communicates the space or capacity required.
State the equipment requirement
Specify the trailer or equipment requested and any temperature-control, loading or unloading requirements. The carrier should confirm that the proposed equipment fits the shipment. Providing a requirement does not mean that a carrier has that equipment available.
Include dates and appointment constraints
Give the earliest pickup, required delivery and any appointment windows. Note whether dates are flexible. Include dock hours and known access restrictions so the carrier can evaluate the request more accurately.
Identify additional services
Mention driver assistance, extra stops, liftgate needs or other services if they apply. Ask how detention, layover, cancellation and other potential charges are handled. Clarify what is included in a quoted rate before booking.
Confirm the final shipment plan
A quote request is not a booking. Before tendering the shipment, confirm capacity, equipment, pricing, pickup and delivery requirements and the agreed communication channel. Lions Empire operations can review your inquiry and discuss whether the requested shipment can be supported.
